Former head coach of the Latvian national team, Aleksandras Starkovas, after a very unsuccessful start in the Russian "Premier" league, mutually terminated his contract with the Moscow team.

The 50-year-old Latvian strategist, who led his national team to the final stage of the last European Championship, was only able to win one out of six matches in this Russian football championship. The coach mutually terminated his contract with the Moscow team, and his place was temporarily filled by 63-year-old team sports director Vladimir Fedotovas.

The Latvian arrived at the team right after the European Championship and replaced the famous Italian strategist Nevio Scala, who was released from the team. Last season, A. Starkovas managed to lead the team to second place and secure a spot for them in the Champions League next year.
