Arda Turan is convinced that he secured his place in the Barcelona team with excellent performances in recent seasons, and according to the player himself, if he had played just well, he would have ended up in the Arsenal team.
The Turkish national team member made his debut for Barcelona only in January, as he had to wait for the end of the Catalan transfer ban, but upon his return to the pitch, he demonstrated admirable form. Speaking to journalists, Turan emphasized that only the best players make it to Barcelona, and if he had appeared even slightly below par, he would have ended up in the London team.
"I felt that I could sign a contract with Barcelona. I genuinely thought: 'If I play very well, I will end up in the Barcelona team, because my playing style suits this team'. But if I had only played well, I would have ended up in the Arsenal team. I knew that because of my playing style, I could make a name for myself in the Barcelona team," Turan said.
The full-back, who debuted in the team in January, has already played 12 matches in the La Liga this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists.
