A. Turanas: I come not for half a year, but for five years.

As soon as "Barcelona" announced the agreement reached with Madrid's "Atletico" for the acquisition of Arda Turan, the player himself could not stand still.

Soon, photos appeared on social media where the Turkish player posed wearing "Barcelona" gear. However, A. Turan did not forget to thank the "Atletico" team and its fans for the time spent together.

Due to FIFA sanctions applied to the Catalonia team, the new player in "Barcelona" will only be able to debut in January of next year. In addition, the outcome of the "Barcelona" presidential elections on July 18th could also affect the Turk's career. The new leader of the Catalonia team could veto the deal with "Atletico" and then the player would have to return to Madrid.

However, A. Turan himself seems firmly convinced - he will definitely play for "Barcelona".

"The fact that I have to sit out six months is a problem, but I am coming not for half a year, but for five years. I want to play and do everything to make my team win," A. Turan said in an interview with the newspaper "Sport" journalists.

While in the ranks of "Atletico", the player significantly added to his trophy collection. With the Madrid team, he won the Copa del Rey, the Spanish championship, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Europa League, but A. Turan does not hide his dream of triumphing in the UEFA Champions League.

"Everyone is born somewhere. I was born in a small town in Turkey and now I come to play in the best team in the world. "Camp Nou" has always made a huge impression on me. I really want to win the Champions League. It's a trophy I haven't won yet," confessed the Turkish national team defender.

A. Turan admitted that it was always difficult for him to play against Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez, and Andres Iniesta.

"Every time I had to face them on the field, it was unbelievably difficult. It's good that now we play in the same team, not against each other," the player joked.

The new "Barcelona" player claimed he had not yet spoken to head coach Luis Enrique about which position he would play, but according to the Turk, there will be time for that: "Wherever they tell me to play, that's where I will play. I want to get to know my teammates as quickly as possible and start training, and of course, win."
