Arturo Vidal was officially introduced today as the new player of Barcelona club. The footballer himself signed a three-year contract and promised to bring back the UEFA Champions League title to Catalonia.
On Friday, Barcelona announced the agreement for the acquisition of Bayern's midfielder. The exact amount is not known yet, but it is estimated that Barca paid 20 or 30 million euros for the Chilean player.
In his first press conference, A. Vidal did not spare compliments for his new club and stated that this is a step forward in his career.
"I am happy to join the best club on the planet. I am eager for new titles and I will try to achieve them with Barca in the coming years," said the midfielder.
Regarding the question if they will be able to stop Real Madrid's journey in the UEFA Champions League, the player answered: "Winning the Champions League is still one of my main goals. I want to succeed in doing it here, in Barcelona."
Praise also came from A. Vidal's future teammate Lionel Messi: "I feel happy to be able to be teammates with the best footballer in history. I feel especially fortunate to have the opportunity to play together with him."
