A virus laid low even seven players of the German national team

Before the World Cup quarterfinals match in the German national team - anxiety.

Coach Joachim Low faced unexpected problems - one after another, seven players dropped out of the lineup due to the flu virus.

The first to feel the symptoms of the illness was defender Mats Hummels, who missed the quarterfinal match against Algeria.

Assistant coach Andreas Kopke confirmed that Christoph Kramer and several other footballers were also sick.

"Seven players are experiencing flu symptoms. At the moment, the situation is not too bad, perhaps the appearance and spread of the virus were caused by air conditioners, travel, and temperature differences. I do not want to dramatize the situation and hope that it will improve," said J. Low.

On Friday, the Germans will face a tough challenge - the French national team.
