After the end of the season, Vilnius "Riteriai" started assembling works for the upcoming years. The goalkeeper Armantas Vitkauskas, who defended the team's goal in 25 matches in the "Optibet A Lyga" league this year, signed a new contract. "First of all, Armantas was unequivocally one of the best players on the team this year. He played reliably, steadily, and much. Another moment - in the last part of the season, he not only once or twice kept the team's goal 'dry', which shows his quality, class, and good play. In conclusion, the offer of a new contract to Armantas was an easy and at the same time logical decision. Both parties wanted further cooperation, now both want Armantas to continue to be a stable player and help the team achieve better results than this year," said the club's sports director Tadas Simaitis. In 25 matches this year, A. Vitkauskas conceded 22 goals, but he kept his goal "dry" ten times. Counting only the autumn months, this statistic is even more revealing - in nine matches, the "dry" gates remained open six times. "I managed to find a common language with the club, and I didn't want to change something again and look for something new. I am truly dissatisfied with the sixth place I took this year, so next year there will be many serious challenges for me personally and for the whole team," commented A. Vitkauskas on his decision to stay. The goalkeeper joined the "Riteriai" team before the start of the 2021 season. In the club, he formed a goalkeeper trio with Lukas Paukstė and Geraldas Širvinskas.
