London's "Arsenal" strategist Arsene Wenger believes that the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against "Monaco" will bring a serious challenge, but he hopes that his players will advance to the next stage.
The "Gunners" have only lost once in their last nine matches, and after Saturday's victory against "Crystal Palace," they climbed to third place in the Premier League.
In the strongest European tournament, Wenger will face a team that he coached from 1987 to 1994.
"We feel a strong team spirit and want to maintain it as a foundation. The team is currently demonstrating a higher level of football, which will be confirmed by results," said the Frenchman.
"In recent years, the quarter-finals of the tournament have been very difficult. I evaluate our chances in this match as 50% against 50%," he added.
"We know that 'Monaco' is very strong defensively - they managed not to concede goals against strong teams. It will certainly be unpredictable, but a beatable quarter-final," Wenger continued.
"The chances of both teams are truly equal because 'Monaco' is in the same position as us. They have returned to a high position in their country's league and regained confidence in themselves," he concluded.
