„Arsenal“ coach Arsene Wenger says it is „difficult to understand“ why the referees did not count Aaron Ramsey's goal in the match against „Liverpool“.
Brendan Rodgers' team dominated the first half of the match, but had to fall behind in the 10th minute when A. Ramsey scored a goal that was disallowed by the linesman.
Replays showed that the referee's team made a mistake and the goal should have been counted.
„We created chances in both halves and it didn't work out for us, as we scored a goal that was not counted. It is very difficult to understand the decision.“ - A. Wenger told journalists after the match.
In the first half, „Liverpool“ created more chances, and only Petr Cech, the goalkeeper of „Arsenal“, prevented the ball from going into the net from Phillipe Coutinho's shot, directing it with his fingertips to hit the crossbar.
In the second half, P. Cech miraculously saved Christian Benteke's shot from just a few meters away. A. Wenger was happy that his new goalkeeper is finally in form.
„P. Cech did well and kept us in the game at important moments. That's what we expect from him. He played a good match.“
