Arsene Wenger believes that Eden Hazard should not be considered Cristiano Ronaldo's successor at Real Madrid.
When the Belgian player arrived at Real Madrid in the summer, he took on the famous number 7 jersey, but even the most naive of "Los Blancos" fans did not expect that Hazard would be the player to guarantee the team at least 40 goals per season.
As stated by Wenger, Real Madrid should look for another striker, and Hazard should be allowed to shine in his own way.
"He is an answer to the problems, but certainly not a player who will replace Ronaldo," the Frenchman said on BeIN Sports. "He will not score 50 goals per season, because that simply isn't his style of play."
"They need another sharpshooter, since Karim Benzema is already 32 years old. If Real Madrid had a young player alongside Karim, I believe it would help them," Wenger asserted, seemingly forgetting that Real Madrid signed Luka Jovic in the summer.
Speaking about Hazard's potential, the strategist added: "Eden is an exceptional player who can create opportunities for other players, especially in crucial matches. Hazard is not afraid of anything. I believe that Real Madrid has not yet seen the real Hazard, the one we have seen for so many years in England. Physically, he is not in his best form yet, but it's just a matter of time before Real Madrid sees the best version of this player."
