Arsene Wenger says he would like to give Alexis Sanchez a rest, but due to the injuries plaguing the Arsenal club, he simply cannot.
The forward has played 69 matches for Arsenal since joining the team just over 15 months ago, and has represented the Chilean national team each time.
Sanchez was already granted a rest after the Copa America tournament, but now Wenger believes there is no possibility of giving the player a break due to the large number of injured attacking players in the squad.
"I am worried about him, because before he went to Chile, he was exhausted. But when I asked him if he was tired, you can guess what he said to me.
At some point I will give him a rest. But now that we don't have Chamberlain, Ramsey, Walcott, Wilshere and Welbeck, it is nearly impossible to do so. I simply don't have enough attacking players for rotation," Wenger admitted.
Arsenal's next match is today at 17:00 away against West Brom.
