Today marks exactly 25 years since Arsene Wenger took the helm at London's "Arsenal." Over those years, the French strategist raised "Arsenal" to a very serious level and won many trophies, including 3 "Premier League" titles, among which was the "invincibles" season of 2003/04. Most football fans thought that Wenger's last years at the helm of the Gunners were poor. However, every year the fans' opinion changes, as even in those years "Arsenal" managed to qualify for the Champions League, almost achieving it now, and winning the FA Cup was not an unfamiliar feeling for this London club. In an interview with "The Telegraph," the Frenchman shared his thoughts on the final seasons with the "Arsenal" team: "I think people unfairly criticize me for those last years. In 2016, we finished second in the league. Leicester won, but the other teams were also worse than Leicester and they lost only three times that season. In 2017, we did not make it to the top four for the first time, but for the first time in 20 years we collected 75 points. People don't understand that. We won the FA Cup against the Chelsea team, which had won the league and had a chance to do the double. And then, in 2018, we lost the League Cup final against City, we lost in the Europa League semifinals against Atletico Madrid by just one goal. In reality, I gave my best years of my career to develop what I think is important - the stadium and the fact that I built the club to a point where it was possible to look into a bright future, with a lot of potential to make that future bright. Ultimately, summing it all up, we used to win and I am most proud that I put the club in that position," - finally said Arsene Wenger.
