London's "Arsenal" manager Arsene Wenger insists that Mesut Ozil is ready to sign a new contract with the team.
For the past few years, there has been a huge uncertainty not only regarding Alex Sanchez, but also about the future of the German, as his current contract is only valid until next summer.
Nevertheless, the attacking midfielder recently delighted fans on the social network "Twitter", calling London his home, and the coach now hopes for his future to be linked with it.
“Our goal is to keep Ozil at the club. We hope we can do this very quickly,” - Wenger said at a press conference.
“We're not so close to be optimistic, but we're not so far to be pessimistic.”
“Considering the dedication, focus, and passion he shows, he behaves like someone who is willing to stay. The next contract negotiations are contract negotiations,”
“We're not so close that I could say 'yes, he will stay.'”
Ozil scored four goals and provided six assists in over 20 matches in all tournaments this season.
