The head coach of London's Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, revealed that Santi Cazorla's injury is serious and without proper care, the "Gunners" may be forced to go up to four months without him.
The Spanish national team footballer suffered the injury on November 29 in a match against Norwich City. The experienced midfielder had a shortage of lateral knee ligaments, which will require S. Cazorla to undergo surgery.
"Santi shouldn't have stepped onto the field in the match against Norwich, but he didn't listen to the opinions of the other 25 players and decided to do it," Wenger said.
"He was told that he has problems with his lateral knee ligaments. The injury is not for the whole season, but it could last anywhere from three to four months," the coach concluded.
This season, S. Cazorla managed to play in 14 matches with the "Gunners."
