A. Wenger: The Champions League becomes predictable

London's "Arsenal" strategist Arsene Wenger, despite the defeat in the first matches, believes that his coached club is capable of fighting for the UEFA Champions League trophy. However, the Frenchman also says that, compared to the past, it is now much easier to identify favorites.

Two weeks ago, the "Gunners" suffered a 0-2 defeat against Borussia Dortmund in an away match. After this match, many fans no longer believe that the London team will be able to go far in the tournament.

"Perhaps the Champions League was more open 15 years ago," said the coach. "The concentration of top-class players in a few clubs is now greater than ever before."

"The outcome of the Champions League is much more predictable today. It is also more difficult to become winners."

"If you were to conduct a survey tomorrow on who will triumph in the tournament, 80 or 90 percent of those surveyed would name the same four clubs."

"I don't think we are among those four, but football is strange and not always predictable. First, let's get through the group stage and then we will see."
