Despite the fact that London's Arsenal suffered a crushing defeat to Manchester City for the second time in five days, coach Arsene Wenger sees positive signs in the game of his players.
After these setbacks, there has been even more talk about the dismissal of the Frenchman, but he does not give up and still hopes to finish the season successfully.
The "Gunners" are already trailing the Premier League's top four by as much as 10 points, and their perhaps only chance to salvage this year remains the UEFA Europa League.
"We have to analyze everything objectively - last night's match was not all negative," Wenger told Sky Sports.
"There were many positive things in that game. When the result is like that, it's always tempting to think that everything was bad, but that was not the case."
"We need to look from a different perspective, step back, look at the big picture, analyze where we looked weak, where we looked strong, emphasize the advantages and get rid of the shortcomings we showed last night."
"The advantages are that we played intensively, looked good going forward, but couldn't capitalize on the opportunities we created," he added.
"I think we had the first chances in the match, so overall I believe we played a very dynamic game and put in a lot of effort. It was a very fast match, where both teams were looking for goals."
"They were as ruthless as they were in the league cup, they took advantage of every weakness we showed in defense."
Wenger can only hope to climb out of the hole in the weekend clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.
