London's "Arsenal" did not spare an impressive amount this summer for "Lyon" forward Alexandre Lacazette.
The "Gunners" splashed a record 53 million euros for the player, but club manager Arsene Wenger is now rubbing his hands with joy and insists that given the changing situation in the player market, the transfer fee would be significantly higher.
"Everything depends on time. Inflation in the market sometimes occurs rapidly, so future purchases need to be properly planned.
"We were already interested in the player last year, so when we tried our luck again this summer, we already knew the footballer.
"I believe we paid a very decent price. This amount would undoubtedly be much higher today," Wenger stated.
"Of course, Alexandre is still trying to fit in with the team, he is somewhat surprised by the speed and intensity of training and matches. I have no doubt that the Frenchman will understand everything, as he is brave and intelligent."
