Arsene Wenger claims that he has not yet had an official conversation with the leaders of Munich's "Bayern", but refused to deny that he would not consider taking over the team if the opportunity arose.
"Bild" reports that the experienced Frenchman is considered the main candidate to take over the coaching duties until the end of the season. Wenger has not coached any team since 2017, so he is free to apply for this position.
"I would never refuse to talk to 'Bayern' because I know the people who have been running this club for almost 30 years. That's all I can say at the moment," the strategist said on the "BeIN Sports" show.
However, soon the hosts of the show "pressed" more from Wenger: "So far, I have not had any conversation with 'Bayern' and I cannot say whether it will happen at all.
I haven't decided yet if I want to return to the field. I am quite happy with the work (football pundit - ed.) I'm doing now, but I also miss the field. So, it's not an easy decision.
I will make a final decision (about a possible return to the coach role - ed.) in the coming days or weeks," Wenger added.
