Before Monday's meeting with "Manchester City", Arsene Wenger admitted that he regrets not signing Raheem Sterling back when he was still playing for QPR.
Sterling joined "Liverpool" in 2012 for £600,000, and after a successful performance transferred to "Manchester City" this summer for a sum of £49 million.
Wenger acknowledged that there was no opportunity to acquire the player this year, but revealed that he regrets not signing him when he was not yet well known in the football world.
"We had many players on our radar at the time when Sterling was playing for QPR - we should have signed him. We were scouting him, but sometimes you just miss obvious players. Every club's history is full of top-level players they let slip through their fingers. At that time, "Liverpool" was quicker," Wenger told reporters before the match.
Wenger will have to closely observe Sterling on Monday when he arrives in London with the "City" team. Both teams are among the main contenders to win the "Premier" league, but in the league table, they both fall behind the "Leicester City" team.
The match between "Arsenal" and "Manchester City" is on Monday at 10:00 PM.
