London's "Arsenal" manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that team leader Alexis Sanchez will not appear in this weekend's match against Aston Villa in Birmingham, but reassured fans by saying that the Chilean will return to the field soon.
The forward pulled a hamstring in the "Premier" league match against Norwich City on November 29, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
However, Sanchez's absence has not been felt by the "Gunners" yet, as they defeated Sunderland 3-1 without him and secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals by beating Olympiacos 3-0 in Greece.
"We only returned on Thursday, so everything will be clear today, but I can say that there were no injuries after the match," Wenger said.
"Those who were temporarily out of the lineup will definitely not play on Sunday. Sanchez is still not ready, and the others will return after Christmas."
Currently, Arsenal is treating injuries to four midfielders: Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Tomas Rosicky, and Jack Wilshere.
