A talented Lithuanian Vilius Armalas is heading to Portugal - he shook hands with Lisbon's "Benfica" club.
The Portuguese club informed on their official website that they signed a 4.5-year contract with the former Kaunas "Stumbro" player. He is currently training with the U-19 team, sometimes joining the U-23 boys' group.
"After signing the contract, it was hard to understand what had happened. The emotions are the best. Probably every young Lithuanian's dream. In December, I trained with the "Benfica" youth teams for a week.
I found out that I left a good impression, but there was no specific offer. After the holidays, I was told that they were waiting for my return and wanted me to become a full-fledged part of this wonderful club," shared V. Armalas with fcstumbras.lt.
The 18-year-old center-back made his debut in the A league last year and is regularly called up to the Lithuanian U-19 national team.
In the summer, the Lithuanian had traveled to Italy, where his abilities were tested by a representative of the "Serie B" league - "Perugia."
