San Marino improved several records on Monday.

The national team of the microstate has primarily achieved its first victory away in its football history.

San Marino also scored 3 goals for the first time. They defeated Liechtenstein 3:1, overtaking this team and Gibraltar, placing first in the D division group, which allowed them to move up to the C division.

At the same time, Lithuania has fallen to the D division after six consecutive losses, meaning that in the next season of the Nations League, San Marino will be playing at a higher level.

However, in the last two instances of the Nations League D division groups, it was possible to qualify for the European Championship qualifiers, which could be one positive outcome and finally hope for Edgaras Jankauskas' team. As they say, there is no bad that does not lead to good.

The groups for the next season of the Nations League will only be determined in 2025, while the World Cup qualifying draw will take place in December.
