Above Mourinho's head - Damocles sword: "Tottenham" crushes "Man Utd" away

On Monday evening, the 3rd round of the Premier League in England came to a close.

At "Old Trafford" stadium, "Manchester United" hosted London's "Tottenham" footballers. In a crucial match, Jose Mourinho's team suffered another painful setback - "Spurs" finally ended their curse at this stadium, while "Man Utd" had to accept a defeat with a score of 0:3.

Jose Mourinho started the match decisively - there were even seven changes in the lineup from the previous game. This paid off - the "Red Devils" had a clear advantage in the first half.

From the start of the game, "Man Utd" did not hesitate to pressure "Spurs" and this became an unpleasant surprise for the visitors. Early in the match, Romelu Lukaku had a perfect opportunity to put "United" ahead, but he failed to direct the ball into the empty net from a fairly simple situation.

In the first half, the most dangerous player on the field for "Spurs" was Dele Alli, but he wasted one opportunity after another.

The second half, especially the beginning of it, was tragic for "Man Utd". In the 50th minute, an almost entire stadium-deflating goal fell into David De Gea's net - after a corner kick, Harry Kane, who finally scored at "Old Trafford," headed the ball into the net.

The nightmare for the "Red Devils" continued - just moments after, "Spurs" took possession of the ball in the middle of the field and Christian Eriksen, left completely unmarked on the edge, almost perfectly struck towards the opponent's goal, where Lucas Moura put the hosts in trouble.

"Man Utd" tried to react to the situation and J. Mourinho threw all possible forces onto the field, but "Spurs" had at least two almost surefire opportunities to score a third goal after the second.

Initially, H. Kane was close to scoring another goal after a corner kick, and a little later, tragically, Victor Lindelof's mistake near his own goal allowed Dele Alli to break away one-on-one with the goalkeeper. However, the Englishman was also plagued by bad luck in these matches and failed to take advantage of the perfect opportunity to put the final point in the match.

Late in the game, "United" tried to press "Tottenham," but in the 84th minute, all hopes were dashed by another impressive run by Lucas - the Brazilian put Chris Smalling on the ground and, left alone with De Gea, struck straight into the goal corner. The result was embarrassing for "Old Trafford" fortress - 3:0.

For the Manchester team, this was a particularly painful defeat - they suffered their second consecutive loss and heavily complicate their situation at the beginning of the season. In turn, "Tottenham" secured their third victory out of as many possible and is one of the four leading teams.

Result:

"Man Utd" 0 - 3 "Tottenham"
50' [0 - 1] H. Kane
52' [0 - 2] Lucas
84' [0 - 3] Lucas
