"Chelsea" owner Roman Abramovich has decided not to dismiss manager Jose Mourinho during the international break.
According to Goal.com, Abramovich does not want to part ways with Mourinho because the two most serious candidates to replace the Portuguese - Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone - are not willing to leave their current clubs and join the London team mid-season.
Recent reports have suggested that "Chelsea" players have turned their backs on the manager, and the team owner will consider options during this break. It seems that Abramovich would like to dismiss Mourinho despite the large compensation that would have to be paid to the manager and his assistants, but currently he is simply dissatisfied that most coaches do not want to join his club in the current situation.
Guardiola's contract expires in the summer, and some sources claim that Simeone would like to move to the "Premier League" in the summer. However, neither of them will definitely move to "Chelsea" mid-season. According to the press, Carlo Ancelotti, who does not want to join the club during the unsuccessful season, will not take over "Chelsea" temporarily until the end of the season.
However, it seems that Mourinho will be given more time to show better results and at least for now, the coach remains in his position. The team management, on the other hand, clearly shows that such results and team management do not satisfy them at all.
During the rest of the season, the Portuguese must not only improve the club's results, but also find common ground with the players and improve the team's image, which was greatly affected by the dismissal of doctor Eva Carneiro. Failing to meet these requirements, Mourinho can only hope to remain as "Chelsea" manager until the end of the season at best.
