London and Russia oil company "Sibneft" owner Roman Abramovich today did something he rarely does - he commented on his team's performance.
Chelsea, which Abramovich bought last summer, won the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against another London team with a score of 2-1, and since the first leg ended 1-1, "Chelsea" advanced.
"The team played excellently and I think they showed Russian character - they did not give up and fought until the end of the match," - Abramovich's spokesperson relayed his boss's words to the press.
However, it is worth mentioning that there are no Russians in the Chelsea team, and both goals yesterday were scored by English players.
"It is a great result for the team. Now we are waiting for Monaco," - the Russian was determined.
However, Abramovich did not comment on speculations about the possible dismissal of the team's coach Claudio Ranieri.
