Together with the football player, the girl vacationing by Lake Como in Italy assured that they rented a motorboat together, sailed out onto the lake, and saw with their own eyes how F. Ismaili jumped from it into the water. However, she did not resurface.
The search is still ongoing in Lake Como in northern Italy for the missing 29-year-old member of the Swiss national women's football team F. Ismaili.
The „Young Boys“ club announced that the team member fell on Saturday afternoon and all efforts are being made to find the girl.
The captain of the Swiss women's team F. Ismaili has been representing the country's national team since 2014. She was born in Albania in Preševo, and her parents moved to Switzerland when she was born.
The friend of the football player explained that she and F. Ismaili swam about 700 meters from the shore, started sunbathing, and swimming.
„It was hot and Florijana decided to take a swim. She jumped into the water. After a while, I looked in that direction and saw nothing. I thought she wanted to scare me - she swam to the other side of the boat, but there was nothing there either.
I panicked, started calling her. Finally, I called the rescuers“, - said the friend of the fallen player.
Rescuers searched Lake Como all day on Sunday for F. Ismaili's body, but did not find it and continued the search on Monday, but so far unsuccessfully."
