On Sunday, after the match, Czech footballer Josef Sural tragically died in a car accident while returning home by a rented bus, BBC reports.
The 28-year-old player, who played for Alanyaspor, was supposed to return with several of his teammates in their privately rented small bus from the city of Kayseri, where their team had a match against "Kayserispor".
The accident occurred just 5 kilometers before reaching Alanya. It is said that the bus driver fell asleep at the wheel, and another driver sitting next to him was also asleep.
Other team members are not in danger, but the medics who arrived could not help J. Sural anymore.
The Czech player joined the Turkish team only in January. Before that, he played for two years in the Prague "Sparta" club.
J. Sural represented the Czech national team for five years. He played 20 matches and scored one goal in the European Championship qualifying match against the Netherlands.
