Yesterday a news article appeared on the "Eurofootball.com" portal, where every reader could vote for one of the three candidates for the 2014 "Golden Ball" award.
A total of 1990 portal visitors participated in the survey. The majority opinion is unanimous - the "Golden Ball" deserves Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo the most, who received 1123 votes.
In second place with 520 votes was Bayern Munich's and German national team goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Only 347 portal visitors believe in the success of Lionel Messi, the four-time best football player in the world.
It is worth reminding that the name of the best player of the year will be announced at the "Ballon d'Or" ceremony on January 12th next year.
