33-year-old left-back defender Ashley Cole has officially become a member of the Italian vice-champions "Roma". His contract with London's "Chelsea" club expired this summer, so the footballer became a free agent and after receiving an offer from the capital's team in Italy, he signed a two-year contract with the possibility of extending it for another year. Several US clubs also expressed interest in A.Cole's services, but the player's agent only considered offers from abroad - the player did not want to stay in England. A.Cole represented two London clubs in England - "Chelsea" and "Arsenal", and also spent one season at the beginning of his career loaned to "Crystal Palace".
