"During the off-season, Antonio Conte, who was in charge of the 'Chelsea' team, explained why he decided to keep veteran John Terry in the team.
According to the Italian, it was he who asked the team leaders not to let go of the experienced defender.
"John has always played for this club and I think he has become part of the team's history.
In the dressing room, he can explain what it means to represent this team and wear the blue jersey," Conte insisted.
"A player can sometimes convey messages. During training, Terry is a good example and always works hard and shows effort."
According to the coach, the experienced 35-year-old player is not ready to hang up his boots just yet.
"If he maintains the will to work hard in training every day, he can stay in the team for a long time and not sit at home with his wife and children."
