At the end of the previous season, Chelsea striker Diego Costa received some unexpected news.
After checking his mobile phone, the Spanish national team player saw a message on the screen from head coach Antonio Conte, saying that he was no longer needed by the "Blues" team.
"It was a crazy moment. Of course, it can happen, but it showed complete disrespect for the person," Costa said.
"I always asked to talk face to face with both the coach and the management. I never sent them short messages, which shows what kind of person the Italian really is.
"If something saddens me in this situation, it is the impact of the decision on the fans - they always supported me, even in difficult situations.
"I played in the team for three years solely because of them and the atmosphere in the dressing room. It was a great experience," said D. Costa.
