Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Equatorial Guinea

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations will be played in Equatorial Guinea.

The tournament was originally scheduled to be hosted by Morocco, but due to the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Africa, the Moroccan government requested a postponement. CAF rejected this possibility and, moreover, completely removed Morocco from the competition for next year's Nations Cup.

Equatorial Guinea previously co-hosted the tournament in 2012, alongside Gabon.

The decision to hold the matches in this country was made on Friday. The Nations Cup matches will be played in the cities of Malabo, Bata, Mongomo, and Ebebiyin. The draw ceremony will take place in Malabo on December 3rd of this year.

The national team representing the host country also gains the right to compete in place of Morocco in the tournament.
