While the extension of the LFF Cup final was still being played in Šiauliai, in the postponed 14th round match of the "A Lyga" in Vilnius, local team "Vėtra" played against Panevėžys "Ekranas".

Although no goals were scored in the first half, in the beginning of the second half, the visitors managed to score three times in just 11 minutes and secure the victory.

In the 48th minute, V. Kavaliauskas sent the ball into the net, then G. Paulauskas added another goal, and the third goal in the 56th minute was scored by P. Lukšys, the most productive player of the league who returned to the field after an appendicitis surgery. The hosts managed to score a consolation goal in the 66th minute through A. Preikšaitis.

After this victory, "Ekranas", with 56 points in 25 matches, caught up with the defending champions "Kaunas" in the title race. So with three rounds left in the league, the championship is once again a two-horse race, and the winner of the gold medals will likely be decided in the final round - on November 7th both leaders will meet in Panevėžys.
