However, the German club, leading 2:1, could have had the opportunity to score a penalty kick when David Raya seemed to block the ball from the goal, and Gabriel grabbed it with his hands in his penalty area. However, the referee decided not to penalize the „gunners“ and allowed the shot to be retaken from the goal.
This decision greatly angered „Bayern“ coach Thomas Tuchel.
„I think the referee made a gross mistake in that episode by not awarding a penalty kick.

More than the decision itself, we were angered by the referee's explanation. He said it was a childish mistake and he would not award penalties in the Champions League quarter-finals for that. This is a tragic argument“, - said T. Tuchel.
