Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu is fighting against former colleagues. The leadership of the Catalan club is currently going through a real crisis - last week, several members of the current leadership handed in their resignation. Two out of four vice presidents - Emili Rousaud and Enrique Tombas - refused to continue working with J. Bartomeu. The others - Silvio Elias, Josep Pontas, Jordi Calsamiglia, and Maria Texidor - formed the board of directors. They publicly criticized the main leader of the Barcelona club and even demanded early presidential elections. "We have reached a point where we do not understand how the club will be managed, especially when so many important decisions are ahead in the future. Especially now, when due to the pandemic, new scenarios will have to be created," wrote the former members of the leadership in their letter. After the statement, J. Bartomeu faced another surprise - E. Rousaud, who had held the position of vice president, said in an interview with RAC1 that "a certain person/organization was filling their pocket from the club's cash register." The current Barcelona leadership, led by J. Bartomeu, decided to react to such statements and officially confirmed that legal action will be taken against E. Rousaud. The announcement added that the club has already resolved another important issue - finally decided who will take the positions of the departing colleagues in the leadership.
