On Saturday evening in Seville, the final of the 2018-19 King's Cup season took place. For four consecutive years dominating this tournament, Barcelona fought against Valencia for the fifth trophy in a row. In the first half, the "Bats" unexpectedly crowned the Catalans and won trophies for the first time in 11 years. From the very beginning of the match, it was felt that Valencia would not allow the opponents from Barcelona to shine in this final. Lionel Messi struggled to create attacks, and Barcelona's defense created problems for themselves. In the 21st minute, one side of the Seville stadium plunged into euphoria - Kevin Gameiro, after a pass from Jose Gaya in the penalty area, stopped the ball and with a powerful shot put the visitors ahead. Barcelona, receiving a cold shower, quickly recovered - in the 33rd minute, the second goal fell into Jasper Cillessen's defended goal. This time Rodrigo took advantage of his chance, who had the opportunity to put the team ahead at the beginning of the match, but his shot was cleared by Gerard Pique. Barcelona reacted to the situation after the break and improved their game. Malcom and Arturo Vidal, who appeared in the penalty box, especially livened up the game, but Valencia held their defense quite successfully. In the 73rd minute, Barcelona's hope was rekindled when a ball that had bounced close to L. Messi's feet quickly ended up in the net. Barca narrowed the gap and left the intrigue until the last moments of the match. During the remaining time, an active game of "Barca" took place in Valencia's penalty area, but Valencia withstood the pressure of their opponents and in the final moments of the match had a chance to score a third goal. For Valencia, this is the first trophy since 2008 when they also triumphed in the King's Cup. This trophy belongs to the "Bats" for the eighth time. Barcelona, just a few weeks ago a serious contender to win all possible titles, this season only remains with the "La Liga" trophy. In the King's Cup final, they lost for the first time since 2014. Result: Barcelona 1 - 2 Valencia 21' [0 - 1] K. Gameiro 33' [0 - 2] Rodrigo 73' [1 - 2] L. Messi
