"After a humiliating defeat against the 'Dinamo' team with a score of 1-5, the leaders of Moscow's 'Spartak' club dismissed former 'Valencia' manager Unai Emery from his duties as head coach.

The Spaniard took over the reins of the team just half a year ago, but during this time he failed to convince the club leaders and was fired after the failure in the derby.

'Spartak' experienced another crushing defeat in front of their fans midweek against the 'Barcelona' club, and in the Russian 'Premier' League they currently sit in 6th place after 17 rounds.

After the match against the 'Dinamo' team, club director Valery Karpin confirmed the coach's dismissal at a press conference: 'The club shareholders have decided that Emery will no longer coach the team. What will happen next will be announced on Monday or later.'

When asked if he could take the team's reins back into his hands, Karpin simply replied: 'I don't know'."
