On Thursday evening in the English League Cup, the second finalist was determined.
At the "Stamford Bridge" stadium, after a loss in the first leg, the London team "Chelsea" tried to redeem themselves. The injury-ridden "Tottenham" team held on until the penalty shootout, but the victors were the "Blues" who secured a ticket to the final.
Before the match, "Tottenham" had a one-goal advantage, but even before the start of the game, it was known that the visitors would not have an easy time at the "Chelsea" fortress - the team was missing H. Kane, D. Alli, and H-M. Son.
The "Aristocrats" started the game aggressively, immediately causing major problems for the "Spurs" defense. In the 27th minute, spectators rose from their seats - N'Golo Kante sent the ball to the goal from about 18 meters, bypassing three opponents.
In the 38th minute, the "Blues" already had a two-goal lead - after a clever left-footed pass by Cesar Azpilicueta, Eden Hazard scored accurately to the "Tottenham" goal.
However, in the second half, "Tottenham" managed to get back into the game and reduce the deficit. In the 50th minute, Fernando Llorente scored a goal that leveled the result of the two matches.
For the rest of the regular time, no more goals were scored, so the teams immediately went to take penalty kicks.
The penalty shootout started with two successful shots from both teams, but later both goalkeepers saved penalties, and with precise shots from the "Chelsea" players, they secured a spot in the final.
The final match between the clubs "Manchester City" and "Chelsea" will take place at "Wembley" stadium on February 24.
