On Tuesday, the first matches of the 2018-19 season UEFA Champions League were played in groups A, C, and D. The matches in group B took place two hours earlier. The most attention from fans was drawn to a match at "Anfield" stadium, where last season's finalist "Liverpool" hosted Paris Saint-Germain. In a highly productive match, where the guests overturned a two-goal deficit, the victory in the last minute was snatched by the "Reds" - 3:2. In this match, PSG managed to respond with two goals, but in terms of the game Thomas Tuchel's team did not impress neither the "Anfield" stadium nor the majority of the fans. In the 30th minute, Daniel Sturridge put "Reds" ahead, and just six minutes later James Milner extended the lead from the penalty spot. After four minutes, Thomas Meunier managed to reduce the deficit. This goal just before the break was crucial for the Parisians, but at the beginning of the second half they did not show a strong desire to equalize the score. In the 83rd minute, the guests took advantage of Mohamed Salah's mistake and unexpectedly tied the score - the goal scorer was Kylian Mbappe. "Liverpool" did not give up and in extra time, substitute Roberto Firmino extended the hosts' dramatic victory with a great strike in the 92nd minute. In the other C group matches, where "Napoli" visited Belgrade's "Crvena Zvezda", unexpected goalless draws were recorded. In group A, two favorites - Dortmund's "Borussia" and Madrid's "Atletico" - celebrated hard-fought victories. The latter defeated "Monaco" away, while BVB overcame "Club Brugge" at the end of the match. In group D, Istanbul's "Galatasaray" crushed Moscow's "Lokomotiv", while Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke" and "Porto" separated with a draw.
