After failure in the Champions League, "Juventus" club shares plummeted sharply

The „Juventus“ club in Turin is going through a tough period - not only are the fans' hopes falling to develop the team in the next stage of the Champions League.

Wednesday's defeat of 0:2 against Madrid's „Atletico“ team in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals shocked the foundations of the Italian club, writes „Business Insider“.

It has been revealed that after the defeat, the value of „Juventus“ shares dropped by 9 percent.

The Turin „Juventus“ significantly increased its share value in the summer when they signed a contract with one of the best football players on the planet Cristiano Ronaldo. After C.Ronaldo moved from Madrid's „Real“ to „Juventus“, the value of Turin club's shares rose by as much as 95 percent.

These numbers grew because of increased hopes for „Juventus“ to win the Champions League.

Last September, when the contract with C.Ronaldo was announced, the price of „Juventus“ shares in the stock market was about 1.57 euros. After the defeat to „Atletico“ team, it dropped to 1.31 euros.

„Juventus“ can still save themselves in the second leg, but the fans of the Turin club are very cautiously evaluating the situation.

C.Ronaldo's arrival at „Juventus“ sparked talks that the most successful club in Italy could finally break the finals curse - the team has lost five finals.

The second leg match between „Juventus“ and „Atletico“ in Turin will take place on March 12.
