One of the best footballers on the planet, Cristiano Ronaldo, has once again saddened the Lithuanian national team.
The 34-year-old forward scored three goals in the last European Championship qualifying match for the Lithuanian national team, and Portugal triumphed with a crushing 6:0 victory.
C. Ronaldo has been lacking form lately at Juventus, but after the hat-trick against the Lithuanian national team, he once again received huge praise from both teammates and the head coach.
"He is the best in the world," said defender Mario Rui. "He never tires of winning, always wants more, and that hunger drives him forward."
"We are extremely lucky to have him in our team. I hope we can continue to enjoy his game," added a representative from Napoli.
Another teammate, Bruno Fernandes, also praised his national team captain's goals: "We have a player who is always motivated and eager to perform as well as possible. He scored three goals, but that is completely normal."
After the match, coach F. Santos also was not surprised by Ronaldo's performance.
"Most people asked me about Cristiano. All I said was that he feels good and is ready to play. I am not at all surprised by his performance. Ronaldo can no longer surprise me, so this hat-trick was completely normal," said F. Santos.
