In the Scottish "Premier" league on Saturday, five out of six matches of the 7th round took place. Edinburgh "Hearts" team achieved their seventh win and their seventh goal of the season was scored by Czech player Rudi Skacel, with Lithuanian Edgaras Jankauskas being named the best player of the match. There were no surprises in the other round matches - the favorites secured three points each.
In the starting lineup of the league leaders "Hearts" for the match against "Inverness" away, there were no changes - just before the match, E. Jankauskas, who had almost not trained last week, and Greek player Takis Fyssas managed to recover. Saulius Mikoliunas was again not registered, and Deividas Cesnauskis watched the match from the substitute bench.
In challenging weather conditions, teams found it difficult to play, but "Hearts" once again managed to move forward thanks to R. Skacel - in the 27th minute, the Czech midfielder sent the ball into the goal with a precise shot, much to the delight of the 2500 visiting supporters from the capital club.
As the match approached its end, "Inverness" had opportunities to equalize the score, but they failed to capitalize on them. In the 87th minute, E. Jankauskas, who had no chance to score, was substituted by T. Simmons, but for his efforts and active support for his teammates, the Lithuanian received applause and later was named the best player of the match on the official club website.
In the third position, at least temporarily, rose Glazgo "Rangers", who defeated "Kilmarnock" 3-0 at home and leveled points with them. The goals for the "Rangers" were scored by D. Prso, B. Ferguson, and an own goal by G. Greer. Both Celtic and Hibernian have gathered the same amount of points as the last two clubs, and they will face each other in the central match of the round on Sunday.
"Motherwell" achieved an easy victory, scoring five goals unanswered against "Falkirk" in just half an hour. J. Hamilton scored the first goal after just over half an hour of play, followed by two goals from R. Foran, and in the middle of the second half, S. Fagan and S. McDonald added two more goals.
"Aberdeen" is trying not to fall behind "Motherwell", winning on the road against "Dunfermline". In the 35th minute, S. Crawford led the visitors to the lead, and at the end of the first half, S. Severin secured the victory. Meanwhile, the absolute underdog "Livingston" only managed to secure one point - this time, after goals from D. Fernandez and P. Canero in both halves, P.
