26-year-old German national team midfielder Toni Kroos today put his signature on a new contract with Real Madrid. The highest-earning German player will stay in Madrid at least until 2022. There were reports in the media that T. Kroos was being tempted by Premier League clubs in England, but the German revealed in a press conference that he feels valued in Madrid and would like to finish his career here.
"I am very happy to have the opportunity to play in Madrid until 2022. From the very first day I arrived in Madrid, I felt great, so there was never a desire to go elsewhere," - said T. Kroos.
"I feel valued in this club. It is very nice when the announcement of the contract renewal is made before I return from international break. One of my goals has always been to play as long as possible for the Real team. I do not sign new contracts without thinking about it.
"I can't imagine myself playing football when I'm 36, but it would be nice if my career ended in Madrid," - added T. Kroos.
T. Kroos is arguably the most dangerous player in Madrid. According to statistics, the German completes passes with 93% accuracy and creates the most goal scoring opportunities.
