The coach of Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri, did not hide his dissatisfaction with the behavior of AC Milan players, which led to Miralem Pjanic's goal being disallowed.
Initially, referee Nicola Rizzoli was certain that Medhi Benatia, who was offside, did not interfere with the successful shot by the Bosnian player. However, after protests from the Rossoneri players and a consultation with his assistants, he changed his decision.
Ultimately, the Bianconeri remained goalless in this match, as a fantastic strike by Manuel Locatelli in the second half secured AC Milan's victory.
"They played well and deserved the goal, but it didn't go our way," Allegri told Mediaset Premium. "We played well, showed quality in our play, but the goal was disallowed."
"These things happen. Unfortunately, the goal was clear, but AC Milan's protest made the referee doubt his own decision."
"As a team, we should focus on football and not put too much pressure on the referees. I would like to know whether it was the referee or his assistant who changed the decision."
After yesterday's match, Allegri can only be happy that Juventus is still in first place in Serie A.
