Pep Guardiola criticized his defenders after the unsuccessful match against London's "Crystal Palace".
Manchester City was trailing for a long time during the match, but Sergio Aguero's goals in the 82nd and 87th minutes provided an advantage. Unfortunately for the citizens, Wilfried Zaha's sprint in the 90th minute ended with Fernandinho scoring an own goal.
After the match, P. Guardiola said that the defenders should not have allowed "Crystal Palace" leader to break through.
"We had to avoid the mistake we made during the second goal," Guardiola said at the press conference.
"You cannot allow Wilfried Zaha to escape - it's simple and clear. We didn't do that and we missed a goal. It wasn't lack of concentration, it was an obvious mistake that we should not have made.
"In such situations, when 'Crystal Palace' go for a quick counterattack, we need to maintain a solid line of four defenders," Guardiola added.
