On Wednesday, London's "Arsenal" suffered their first defeat of this season's UEFA Champions League.
The "Gunners" lost 0:1 to Milan's "Inter" in an away match.
The victory for the Italian club was determined by a penalty kick awarded at the end of the first half.
After the match, "Arsenal" coach Mikel Arteta expressed his frustration with the refereeing decisions, particularly angry about a penalty not awarded to "Arsenal" when Yann Sommer struck Mikel Merino in the head.
"I do not understand the penalty given against us. There was no danger in that situation. Merino had no chance to react as the shot was from very close range.
Maybe I could justify such a refereeing decision, but in that case, a penalty should have been awarded to "Inter" when Merino was hit in the head.
Such decisions in such matches make a difference, and it's very hard to accept.
Before the season, we were told that such hits to the hand are not 11-meter penalties. Still, the referee decided otherwise," said M. Arteta.
