This year, the Lithuanian national football team faces at least two very serious challenges.

After the quarterfinals of the Nations League against Spain and the Netherlands, it was confirmed that on September 7, Edgaras Jankauskas' team will meet the Dutch players at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium.

The Netherlands lost the series only after a penalty shootout. This will be a World Cup qualifying match.
