"Barcelona" is not yet seen in the search for an end - the Catalans are interested in Lisbon's "Benfica" striker Jonas, as confirmed by his agent Tiago Goncalves.
The 32-year-old footballer had an excellent season, scoring 32 goals in 34 matches, and his club triumphed in the Portuguese championship.
"Barca" was also recently linked with Madrid's "Atletico" player Luciano Vietto, but it seems that the 'colchoneros' do not want to release the Argentine.
"A person representing "Barcelona" contacted us at the end of last season," - Goncalves told Globoesporte.
"It is clear that we are somewhat flattered, because this is an incredible recognition of Jonas' season."
"When a club is interested in something, it must act quickly, because negotiations, before reaching their goal, take a long time. The transfer would be difficult, as there has been no contact since the mentioned time."
"I want it to be clear that Jonas is very happy within the ranks of "Benfica" and feels loved here. Barcelona's interest is a reward for what he has done with "Benfica". However, the transfer would only happen if both "Benfica" and Jonas wanted it."
The current striker's contract with the Portuguese champions is valid until 2018.
