Agent: "Mbappe was supposed to move to Real Madrid this summer" © JumpStory

Renowned French football agent Yvan Le Mesas believes that Kylian Mbappe would have joined Real Madrid this summer if not for the coronavirus crisis. Just a few weeks ago, former Paris Saint-Germain player Jerome Rothen spoke about it, claiming that the deal was practically finalized, but the unforeseen pandemic disrupted both Real Madrid's and Mbappe's plans. Speaking to Marca, Le Mesas stated that Real simply cannot afford to spend several hundred million euros on acquiring one player this summer. "It can be said that Kylian Mbappe would have arrived at Real this summer if the situation hadn't drastically changed. Now there is a big question mark whether Real can afford to splash out 300 million euros," said the agent. However, as Le Mesas himself claims, that doesn't mean that Mbappe won't eventually move to Real. "Mbappe wants to play there. His ideal has always been Zidane. He wants to be the best striker in the world, and where else would he receive more recognition if not at Real Madrid," added the agent.
