The Belarus national team and London club guard Aleksandras Hleb will not play for about a month due to a calf injury - confirmed by the team's head coach Arsene Wenger.
The 25-year-old Belarusian suffered the injury in the peaceful 2-2 Europa League semi-final match against Tottenham on Wednesday.
"It won't be longer than I initially thought - a good four weeks," said Wenger. "We don't want to lose players in January. If you lose them for a long time - their season could be over."
In the mentioned match, forward Jeremie Aliadiere and defender Emmanuel Eboue also suffered minor injuries, but they should return to the lineup next week. Meanwhile, Robin van Persie, who fractured his foot bone, may be out for a couple of months.
"If everything goes well, he will probably recover after six or eight weeks, but it could take ten. This means he would be back in April, approaching the end of the season, when he must be in good shape. I hope it will be six weeks, but that is very optimistic," said the coach.
