"Ajax" approached the Champions League group stage

On Wednesday, the first matches of the last qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League ended.

In a 3-1 victory at home against Kiev's "Dynamo," Amsterdam's "Ajax" players secured their spot. The Dutch team, coached by Erik ten Hag, has brought themselves closer to qualifying for the main tournament stage.

In the 2nd minute, the hosts gained an advantage due to a mistake by the away team's goalkeeper. However, the Ukrainians didn't give up, and in the 16th minute, Tomas Kedziora restored the balance.

The scoreboard remained unchanged for a while - it wasn't until the 35th minute that Hakim Ziyech's ricochet brought the lead back to the "Ajax" team, and Dusan Tadic secured the victory at the end of the first half.

In other matches, where Szekefehervar's "Videoton" met Athens' AEK, the Greeks celebrated a victory. In these matches, there were even two red cards shown - one for each team's player.

In the final matches, "Young Boys" and Zagreb's "Dinamo" parted ways with a draw.

In yesterday's matches, Eindhoven's PSV achieved a victory, while the other two matches ended in a draw between PAOK - "Benfica" and "Red Star" - "Salzburg" teams.

The return matches will take place next week.
